NH Fisher Cats
Manchester, NH
A full field renovation was in need at this ballpark. After stripping existing vegetation, our team got to work incorporating sand into the rootzone, capping the infield with DuraEdge Classic, installing over a mile of drainage, and installing new bluegrass sod. Johnson & Wales University, Providence, RI
STS completed a baseball infield renovation at Johnson & Wales University as an effort to enhance the safety and playability of the field. The team installed a new Duraedge infield skin, baselines, mound, and home plate area. As well as adding a custom rootzone mixture and new sod to complete the project. Fenway Park, Boston, MA
Following the Football at Fenway Shamrock Series NCAA game and the Big Air Snow Jump this year, Fenway Park was in need of a facelift. In March 2016, our team renovated the playing surface wall to wall incorporating a new outfield rootzone mix, infield DuraEdge clay, warning track DuraEdge material, and Kentucky Bluegrass sod. The project lasted 2 weeks and is ready for the Home Opener, April 11, 2016!
Avery Field, Dedham, MA
Stabilized Field
The STS Construction team installed a "state-of-the-art" field in Dedham, MA in 2015. The field was previously used a "snow dump" during the record breaking winter of 2015. The project consisted of installing new lateral and perimeter drainage, an irrigation system, a sand-cap rootzone mixture, and new turfgrass sod. Prior to sodding, the team blended stabilizer fibers into the rootzone to increase shear and load-bearing strength which ultimately decreases compaction and increases rooting and traction.
Winnacunnet HS, Hampton, NH
Infested with weeds, negleted edges, and inconsistent infield material, this baseball field was in some dire need of a renovation. The team reset the field back to regulation, removed unwanted vegetation, added a new infield mixture, and rebuilt the mound and home plate areas. Aside from the infield, the warning track was refurbished. The project took 2 days to complete but the results were remarkable. Check out the before and after pictures!
South Hamilton Equestrian Arena
The STS Construction team completed an equestrian arena expansion in May 2015. The team subgraded existing materials, installed a new base (sand & stone dust), and finished the project by blending a custom equestrian arena footing. The custom footing increased stability and performance, increased shear and impact resistance, reduced dust, and increased drainage. The completed arena was 30,000 square feet.
Boston College
The STS Construction team completed an athletic field complex renovation in December 2014 consisting of a softball field, baseball field, and football training fields. The team stripped over 150,000sqft of turfgrass in one day, amended existing soil conditions, installed new DuraEdge infield material and warning track stone dust, and laid new bluegrass sod on the entire complex. The team completed the project in less than two weeks.
Milton Academy
The STS Construction team recently renovated a high school baseball infield. By stripping the turfgrass from the infield, the team blended sand into the rootzone, laser graded the modified soil, and installed new turfgrass sod. The team also excavated the existing stone dust skin area and replaced it with sand and DuraEdge Infield Clay for optimim playability and safety for the athletes.
Plainville Soccer:
Field Installation
The STS Construction Team transforms an abandoned parking lot into a soccer field in Plainville, MA. Following the removal of existing gravel, rock, and unwanted vegetation, the team sub-graded the sand-base, added a new custom soil rootzone mixture, and prepped the surface for seed.
Concord Academy: Athletic Complex Construction
The STS Construction Team installs a new athletic complex at Concord Academy in Concord, MA. With state-of-the-art drainage, irrigation, and soil engineering, the team constructed two full size soccer fields and one baseball field at the new complex.
FIFA - International Futbol:
Turfgrass Installation
The STS Construction Team installs a temporary playing surface for FIFA - International Futbol Match played at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA. Thick cut sod was installed in less than 12 hours, and removed 3 days later. International Soccer regulations require teams to play on natural grass fields. This results in synthetic surfaces being converted to temporary natural grass for game day.
Washington Redskins: Drainage Installation & Laser Grading
To eliminate a reoccurring field drainage problem, the team installed new drainage lines across the field with our Wizz Wheel Trencher. The field was capped with a custom sand profile and prepped for new sod installation. This system allows for maximum drainage, water runoff, deep rooting potential, athlete stability and safety, and field playability, even when it's raining.
Citi Field:
Infield Reconstruction
Specializing in infield reconstruction and modification, the STS construction team excavated and removed the existing infield skin. For optimum infield drainage, a new sand sub base was constructed prior to installing a DuraEdge infield skin. STS is the Northeast Certified Contractor for DuraEdge Natural Sand Co.
